About the Opportunity

Haystack Recruitment is partnering with a respected Western Canadian builder to hire an experienced Site Superintendent for a highrise project project in Calgary’s inner city. This role is ideal for a superintendent who leads with accountability, clear communication, and strong trade relationships — someone known for safe, high‑quality, on‑schedule projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Project Manager to provide field reports, safety updates, staffing needs, and schedule progress.
• Oversee subcontractor performance, ensuring safety compliance and adherence to scope.
• Maintain proper site staffing levels to meet safety, schedule, and quality targets.
• Identify design issues, schedule risks, and construction challenges early and communicate proactively.
• Administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, site instructions, and change notices.
• Lead and direct trades and labourers with consistent communication and clear expectations.
• Support site safety leadership and ensure all workers follow company safety policies.
• Collaborate with head office teams and provide required reporting across departments.

Skills & Experience

• 5+ years as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent with a general contractor.
• Proven experience delivering concrete highrise projects from pre‑construction through completion.
• Strong ability to build trust and relationships with field staff, clients, and external partners.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate crews of varying sizes.
• A track record of fostering a positive, accountable, reliable site culture.
• Experience with infrastructure, roadworks, or bridges considered an asset.

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive salary in the $130,000–$165,000 range, depending on experience.
