Our client, a well-established developer builder, is looking for an Estimator and Senior Estimator to support upcoming building projects from early pricing through to tender closing.

The level of the hire will depend on experience. This role works closely with estimating leadership, owners, and consultants, and plays a key part in putting together competitive, well thought-out bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate takeoffs and pricing, and build out complete tender packages
• Develop conceptual estimates and flag potential issues early, keeping the overall project picture in mind
• Level and review subcontractor tenders in detail
• Put together scopes of work, bidder lists, and supporting bid documents
• Research market factors that can affect pricing and productivity, and factor them into bids
• Review drawings and specifications to spot risks, gaps, and schedule concerns, suggest solutions, and raise issues promptly
• Prepare early budgets and provide ongoing costing support, including identifying possible savings and comparing estimated costs to actuals
• Help set estimating priorities and schedules so work is properly sequenced and deadlines are met
• Build strong working relationships with owners and consultants
• Coach and support junior estimating staff
• Take on additional assignments as needed to support project and team goals

Skills & Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or a related field, or an equivalent mix of technical training and experience
• 6+ years of construction experience
• Strong conceptual estimating ability
• Self-motivated, able to take ownership and lead larger bids
• Good judgment on risk, pricing, and constructability, with a detail-focused approach

Compensation & Benefits

Up to $155,000 base salary, plus annual bonus
