Customer Care Technician
About the Opportunity
Haystack Recruitment is partnering with a respected real estate development and construction group to hire a Customer Care Technician. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates well with homeowners, and enjoys a mix of hands‑on repair work and customer interaction. You’ll be the primary onsite representative supporting homeowners before and after occupancy, ensuring a smooth, professional, and positive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance, including drywall patching, painting, caulking, basic plumbing, flooring touch-ups, and light carpentry.
- Complete pre‑occupancy and post‑occupancy walkthroughs with homeowners, including key handovers.
- Respond to homeowner service requests and resolve deficiencies promptly and professionally.
- Document all work performed and provide daily written updates to the Customer Care Supervisor.
- Coordinate with trades and subcontractors for specialized warranty or repair work.
- Conduct inspections to identify issues early and support proactive maintenance.
- Prepare suites for occupancy by addressing deficiencies and ensuring quality standards are met.
- Manage first‑year warranty items, including assessments and remediation.
- Maintain accurate service tickets within the internal ticketing system.
- Keep the Customer Care vehicle clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Support the broader Customer Care Team as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience & Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience in construction, residential maintenance, or a related trade.
- Previous experience in construction customer care is an asset.
- Strong hands‑on skills across multiple areas: drywall, painting, caulking, basic plumbing, and general repairs.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Self‑starter with strong problem‑solving abilities and willingness to ask questions.
- Able to work independently while maintaining strong communication with the Customer Care Team.
- Professional, courteous, and able to build positive relationships with homeowners and contractors.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; comfort with technology and administrative tasks is an asset.
