Civil Superintendent – Municipal Infrastructure
We are looking for a hands-on, safety-focused Civil Superintendent to lead day-to-day execution of municipal infrastructure projects—including water and wastewater facilities, bridges, and other vital public works.
You will partner closely with project managers, subcontractors, and clients to deliver quality construction outcomes on time and on budget, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, craftsmanship, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects progress efficiently and meet contractual obligations
- Monitor project budgets and forecasts at the phase and cost-code level, identifying opportunities for savings or early risk detection
- Provide clear direction, regular feedback, and strong leadership to field teams and subcontractors
- Enforce safety protocols, quality standards, and compliance with all project specifications and regulations
- Manage equipment, tools, and material logistics; coordinate inspections, repairs, and service needs
- Step in hands-on (including night shifts or extended hours when required) to solve challenges and hit critical milestones
Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience as a Superintendent with a large general contractor on commercial or civil projects
- Proven success managing projects valued between $100K and $20M
- Background in municipal infrastructure (water, wastewater, bridges, etc.) strongly preferred
- Journeyman trade certification or equivalent hands-on field experience
- Willingness to be highly visible and active in the field, including occasional night shifts
- Valid BC driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel and work across the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, and Fraser Valley
Assets:
- Technical diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline
- Gold Seal certification
- NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) designation
